Grew up with Francis Magalona on tv and the airwaves. He was on Eat Bulaga for so many years. REmembered him being the one of the first VJs on MTV with my favorite, Donita Rose.
But who could forget his songs, though. Too many to mention here. Maybe "Mga Kababayan Ko" which was the anthem for the Filipino youth of our generation. "Kaleidescope World" was also a good one. He had a lot of commercial and hard rap stuff. He was the original, as far as I'm concerned. A lot of rap artists have come and gone. All younger than he. But Francis M had what it took to stay long in the biz. He wasn't the haras2 type, too. He didn't pretend to be gangsta as some would put it. He had the talent and the creativity to make it all work. He had his kids running around in his videos. He was one cool guy and an even cooler dad.
He has the cutest kids. Maxine is a stunner. I feel for the younger ones. And for his wife who is so pretty and you never heard any rumors about her whatsoever. She was always there to support, which is very admirable.
All our prayers go to his family and we all appreciate and raise our glasses to a guy who definitely meant a whole lot to the country in one form or another. An icon to be missed.
