Mole be gone!

After years of procrastinating, it has finally happened. My first operation EVER and the demise of what has been a part of me for the past 28+ years. But, no worries. No sentimental tears. Relieved to have it all over and done with.

I had it checked several times before but finally, Dra. Leuemberger of St. Luke's referred me to Dr. Franklin Kleiner of Asian Eye Institute in Rockwell. Dutayan lang nag Klein! :D

Came over on Thursday to have him see it and almost barely didn't get operated on until the following week. Good thing with a little pleading and begging, Dr. Kleiner agreed to do the operation the next day. What will I do for 2 weeks with sooo much going on back home? Over what? A mole? Ugh!

So despite having to come in at 6:30 am, I was surprised to find myself not that anxious as I thought I would be. I did keep putting it off for so many years because I was admittedly too scared. But the operation itself lasted about 30 mins-1 hour. The anesthesia was the worst part.

Spent a week in Manila with a bandage on my face. Came home last Friday, still with a small bandage over my wound. Its supposed to come off tomorrow. My meds end today so here's to hoping I heal well.

Its kinda funny to think about it. After all, that is how some people remember me. Another new way of looking at myself, I guess.

Btw, this pic is by Joy Barza during out dinner at Cathy's house a few days back.
