A lotta thoughts, no pennies

GRRRRR....
I hate the LTO and DPWH right now. Implementing a truck ban that they haven't figured out yet, causing a lot of problems for us monetarily and mentally. alas, another way for these people to make money while the rest of the country suffers. hope they can don't sleep well at night.

SCANDALS GALORE!
how can u not talk about the hayden kho-katrina halili-and all the other girls in his videos? its all over the news every single hour. ok, if hayden had a fetish for video taping his escapades, fine. but his fault is that he should have asked the girls for permission. the girls had no idea they were being taped, hence invading their own private space. one thing about videos, unless u watch it immediately after then delete it, it will always somehow find a way to leak out. whether it be by the parties involved or someone, unintentionally stumbles upon it. duh!
as for vicky, well, something's not right and i kinda have to agree with what lolit is saying. seems like she's the only one with the motive thus far.
as for the other girls, i pity them. espacially maricar. looks like she was such a sweet girl. but even with katrina's sexy persona, can't imagine being in her place right now.
so irritated by hayden's mother. i cringe whenever she come out on tv.
that guy who poured water on hayden, what a show horse! how low can u get?
this whole senate inquiry, just another way of showing how superficial our senators are. petty, too. we have more important things to tackle and they could do this without inviting the media. these people have already been violated and the more attention the media brings it, the more interest there is for these videos. its like promoting it even more. more people watched this movie than the filpino movie that just won at cannes for best director. how sad is that?

NOT AS YOUNG AS I USED TO BE

* funny how i noticed that i know take vit c for energy, vit e for my lump and is an anti-oxidant, caltrate for my bones to be stronger (we do have sculiosis in our family). hmmm... oh yeah, and anti-aging serum for my face. gotta fight off those lines as soon as possible!

* perspective-wise, so many things that i'm more daring at now that i used to really stay away from. wish i could have done this a whole lot sooner. but i can't complain.

* i don't fret as much on people i don't get along with anymore. years ago i had this deep urge to make everyone like me. its now a more stable approach to people. alas, so many people just have a narrow way of seeing things and themselves.

* everyone calls me manang or ma'am now. and you end up saying, "in my time". gadzooks! :D

* coffee has become my best friend. i have finally become my father.

* i have gained weight and have a horrific time getting rid of it.

* my wardrobe has finally evolved. hahaha! im finally a girl!

not a bad first run

For more than a decade, Elena, Anne and I have been friends but literally haven't been anywhere together except Iloilo and Manila. Big whoopee! Finally! We get to go to Boracay which is pathetically only a few hours away from Roxas. We had to turn 30 to go! So I was more than happy to make it all work out. And these are the results:

Elena decided it was a good idea to bring him. Hahaha! Was she in for a surprise and dragging all of us with her.
Love love love the food at aria. Best pizzas ever! Not to mention my personal favorite, their strawberry shakes. Too bad it wasn't in season then. I was really counting on having some for the longest time.
w/ DJ, Anne and Jing. Elena took the pic. This was in Aria still. Man, I look so chubby! DAng!
Beach goddess and my Lola! No such thing as too much tan.
wish i had more time to go on a diet. sigh!
after all, i was on vacation. bottom's up! that's what they call it, bottom's up.
after shaking off someone who was pissing us all off, we ended up at juice. Surprised to see a lot of people from Roxas there. Including, Dr. Dennis Aguirre.
Lesi looking sooo good. Bumped into Ariel that afternoon and so glad that he dropped by and hung out with us.
Stok was a lifesaver. He worked my camera that night. Felt just like the good old (well not too old) days.
kilig naman ako! sobra! i wanna be like that! in a less crowded beach though!
if only things were different, they could make a good couple. sigh! but, life isn't about fairy tales.
paul turned out to be a 100x better than the other one. pretty nice guy.
may 24, 2009, exactly a year since i met u. wishing u were here.

dinner was at the discovery suites. thanks so much, paul! it wasn't cheap, that's for sure. but it was fun to be there and get to see what i've been reading and hearing for so long.

all in all, our trip was definitely one for the books. turning 30 for 2 of us is a milestone. what a way to break through our 20s and say hello to our 30s.

next stop, who knows?

back to the island

is there anything as blissful as this? a little bit of tiis and you get to have this. not bad at all. i can still feel the sand between my toes and the wind just inviting you to drift with the clear blue turquoise waters ahead. pass the strawberry shake, suntan lotion, shades and a suit that hides the gutt and i'm good to go.

more pics to come as soon as i get over the travel slump.

Still a trekkie at heart

I was so bummed when I thought that I would have to miss it. But on the 2nd week since its release, my sweetie was the best top bring me to watch it right after church this beautiful Sunday morning.

I am so happy! I actually teared up even before the opening credits rolled! Sad! But I have watched Star Trek since... Shucks! Since we had it on local tv. No cable pa at the time.

I am a fan of the original and of the Next Generation. Deep Space 9 was ok but I was in the middle of college then and I couldn't follow it as much anymore.

What a thrill to see them all in that age. Fuuuhhhnnneee! I was laughing because for the most part they got the mannerisms and accents down. I appreciated the casting all except the guy who plays James T. Kirk. No one beats the original in my book.

Seeing Winona again was such a surprise. To find her in a mother role was so surreal. But glad to see her on the big screen again.

Seeing the USS Enterprise come out in their supposed maiden mission gave me such goosebumps.

Can you imagine I used to collect Star Trek cards and would repeat Klingon phrases on my own. I am such a geek but those were fond fond memories.

I can go on and on and on and on. :D

Elena's 30th

The day has finally come and gone. Ma. Elena Deocampo is finally 30. I'm not that far behind. But taking it in stride and just going with the flow.

30 is like huge for girls. More so for those who are single. But, God has a plan for everything. He knows best. I can't complain.

So here's to more adventures, experiences and all that life has to offer. This is just the beginning!

hey miley!

Just thinking about her name makes me wanna sing, "You bring the limo out front. Hot styles. Every shoe, every color..." But enough about Hannah Montana, don't you just love this pudgy little bundle of fur? Only a month old, Miley is Joey and Vic2's pom. But she stays with us full time. She is sooo chubby. Makes me wanna just squeeze her round body.

Welcome to the family, Miley!

Manny making us proud once more

Shots from the condo

The different hues over Makati. I will miss this. Too bad I forgot to take pics at night. Stupid stupid stupid :P

Mole be gone!

After years of procrastinating, it has finally happened. My first operation EVER and the demise of what has been a part of me for the past 28+ years. But, no worries. No sentimental tears. Relieved to have it all over and done with.

I had it checked several times before but finally, Dra. Leuemberger of St. Luke's referred me to Dr. Franklin Kleiner of Asian Eye Institute in Rockwell. Dutayan lang nag Klein! :D

Came over on Thursday to have him see it and almost barely didn't get operated on until the following week. Good thing with a little pleading and begging, Dr. Kleiner agreed to do the operation the next day. What will I do for 2 weeks with sooo much going on back home? Over what? A mole? Ugh!

So despite having to come in at 6:30 am, I was surprised to find myself not that anxious as I thought I would be. I did keep putting it off for so many years because I was admittedly too scared. But the operation itself lasted about 30 mins-1 hour. The anesthesia was the worst part.

Spent a week in Manila with a bandage on my face. Came home last Friday, still with a small bandage over my wound. Its supposed to come off tomorrow. My meds end today so here's to hoping I heal well.

Its kinda funny to think about it. After all, that is how some people remember me. Another new way of looking at myself, I guess.

Btw, this pic is by Joy Barza during out dinner at Cathy's house a few days back.
